With Above the Weeping World, a Candlelight worldwide priority release, Insomnium are now positioned for that next leap… Recording at renowned Fantom and Finnvox Studios, Above the Weeping World contains the band’s skilled melodic death metal, stunningly heavier with even further dynamic and melodic variety than that of their previous efforts. “This is by far the best Insomnium album”, says vocalist/bassist Niilo Sevanen. “It is the first time we feel we really succeeded in studio. We have nine great tracks on the album. Even the video looks really cool. As a band we are very happy with the end result.” Formed in 1997, Insomnium recorded two demos before signing with Candlelight Records. Their two albums have sold well for a band that has had very little live experience (over 10,000 combined worldwide sales to date); things to change in the coming year.
