	Tavares Hard Core Poetry - expanded edition After the brothers Tavares (Ralph, Pooch, Chubby, Butch and Tiny) signed to Capitol Records in 1974, they experienced immediate success with their debut LP, Check It Out. However, it was the follow-up, the much-treasured HARD CORE POETRY that set the group up for a row of hits that established them as solid hit-makers. Produced by the team of Dennis Lambert & Brian Potter, (just coming off success with The Four Tops), HARD CORE POETRY (a Top 20 R&B charted album) gave the New Bedford, Massachusetts family group the first of three No. 1 U.S. R&B hits in the form of 1974’s ‘She’s Gone,’ a song written and originally recorded by Philly blue-eyed soul duo, Hall & Oates. The album also included two other major hits for Tavares, the uptempo ‘Too Late’ (No. 10 R&B) and ‘Remember What I Told You To Forget’ (No. 4 R&B/No. 25 pop), a song that had originally been cut by The Four Tops. The flipside of that single, ‘My Ship’ also achieved significant club airplay reaching No. 13 on Billboard’s disco charts. Previously only available as a now out-of-print Japanese CD, this expanded edition of HARD CORE POETRY includes two single edits as bonus tracks and liner notes by SoulTracks’ founder Chris Rizik with quotes from Pooch Tavares. 	Weather Girls Success - expanded edition THE WEATHER GIRLS were Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes. The duo started out in the gospel group NOW (News of the World) before becoming backup singers with Sylvester in the late seventies. They were then named TWO TONS OF FUN and had a run of Disco hits on the Fantasy label. The group then signed with Columbia Records and changed their name to The Weather Girls in 1982. The newly named duo’s first single ‘IT'S RAINING MEN’ was quickly a massive club hit in the US, topping the Dance/Disco chart in 1982. Their debut album SUCCESS featured the hit single and was a US chart hit. Despite only being a minor pop hit at home, ‘IT’S RAINING MEN’ became an international hit and eventually made number 2 in the UK in 1984. Since then it has become a massive anthem. 	Love Committee Law & Order - expanded edition LOVE COMMITTEE started life as The Ethics, forming in 1967 with members Ron Tyson, Joe Freeman, Carl Enlow and Andrew Collins. The Ethics recorded for a number of independent labels and working along the way with people such as Vince Montana Jr. and Thom Bell. As the group underwent various changes in line up, so too did their home to record spending time at Philadelphia International Records, TSOP, Ariola and Gold Mind Records where they would finally settle under the name LOVE COMMITTEE. LOVE COMMITTEE now comprised of Ethics members Ron Tyson and Joe Freeman with the addition Norman Frazier and Larry Richardson and it was under this assemblage that two albums would be released on the Baker-Harris-Young led Salsoul subsidiary and together with the musical guidance of Baker-Harris-Young and songsmith Ron Tyson Love Committee cut their debut album: Law And Order. Prior to the release of Law And Order, Gold Mind Records prepared the single offerings, the first of which was Cheaters Never Win, which achieved an impressive top 60 spot on the US R&B charts while the title track Law And Order, became a huge dance floor hit making it into the R&B top 100 and rocketing all the way to #2 on the US Dance charts.
